10th Friendship Anniversary with Milky

Image
It was in 2016 when Milky and I met in Surigao City, introduced by common acquaintances. I didn't expect we would click.  I think it was because of the common interests we shared, such as books, coffee, coffee shops, and a love for taking pictures, that we got along well.   (photo taken by a stranger at Ayala, Cebu City, October 2018) We lived under one roof, shared meals, and visited coffee shops and tourist spots around the city together. But we don't have deep conversations. (Temple of Leah, Cebu City, June 2018) (Lantaw Floating Restaurant, Cordova, Cebu, June 2018) But I can say that our true closeness only began when we reunited in 2023 after our lives went separate ways in 2019 (no contact until 2022).  (McDonald's, IT Park, Cebu City, August 2023) (This is our first photo together after we parted ways in 2019.) (Saekyung, Lapu-Lapu, November 2024) Our walls came down, and we became more open, because this time we could freely share our heartaches, experiences, and...

Alone In Boracay Island | Boracay Trip 2025

Image
Boracay Island is my second destination in the Philippines that I traveled to alone.  And I remember my instructor in the Personal Finance subject once asked: "what do you want to do after graduation?" My answer was: "I wanted to go to Boracay as a graduation gift to myself." And that time I already had the ticket booked, hehe. (This was my breakfast view for 3 days) I stayed at the Piccolo Hotel; considering that this is situated in Boracay Station 2, it's worth the price since the beach is just a walking distance from the hotel. It was very convenient for me. I enjoyed waking up in the morning and having my morning walk by the beach. And it is damn true that the sand in Boracay is fine and powdery. Ugh! I didn't book any water activities in Boracay because I want to do it with someone next time. And also it was the time of the month (hahaha, poor me). Nevertheless, I super enjoyed my stay here, my slow morning, the way I sipped my coffee (hehe), and my mor...

Unique Accomodation at Port Barton, Palawan, Philippines

Image
Spending Christmas 2024 at the Jungle Bar Resort and Cottages, surrounded by nature, no internet, no phone signal—it was something I didn’t know I needed. At first, it felt strange—no notifications, no scrolling. But then, I started noticing things I’d been missing. The sound of the waves, the laughter of locals, the way the sunlight hits the water at golden hour.     I learned to appreciate silence. The kind that’s not empty, but peaceful. I learned that real connection doesn’t always need Wi-Fi—it happens over shared meals, stories, and smiles. I appreciated the simplicity of island life—slow mornings, real conversations, and nights filled with music, sometimes the sound of crickets, instead of screens.   This trip reminded me that sometimes, the best way to reconnect is to completely disconnect. Gratitude feels deeper when life is quieter. And when you finally put your phone down, you pick yourself back up.  _kenny🖤

Cooking, Exploring, and Camiguin Memories

Image
The PALAHUBOG crew went to Camiguin for 2 nights and 3 days, and it was a fun and very budget-friendly trip. (Old Church Ruins) I booked Marianita's Cottage for our accommodation. Based on our activities, this place was a good choice. One room had a sea view, and the other had a garden view and was slightly bigger. Best part? We could cook inside, which helped us save a lot on food. And of course, Teddy got to show off his chef skills, which made it even better. 😄 ( https://www.marianitas-cottages.com/) (the chef 👨‍🍳) We visited some of the island's well-known spots on our first day, like the  Old Church Ruins  (50.00 PHP entrance fee) and the   Sunken Cemetery (no entrance fee). Our dinner that night, plus breakfast the next morning, only cost us 172.00 PHP each. Super affordable and shared with laughter and good vibes. (twinning) The next day, we went on an island tour to Mantigue Island . The boat fee was just 750.00 PHP for all six of us, including the kids, Yana...

The Quiet Bravery of Going Alone

Image
There's  quiet courage in going through something even when it doesn't happen as you imagined. The original plan was shared. A trip with a friend, a familiar face beside you in unfamiliar streets. But life shifts. People need to be elsewhere. And suddenly, you're faced with a choice: wait for the perfect timing... or go anyway.   Going alone doesn't always mean loneliness. Sometimes, it means finally listening to your own pace. Taking up space without explaining why. Being still in a new place, with no one to ask "what's next?" There's a strange beauty in that. It's in the moment you arrive and realize no one's waiting for you. In the way you set up your tripod like an old friend. In the quiet confidence of asking directions in a language that isn't yours, but trying anyway.  In the way strangers smile when you say good morning, and for once, you really feel it. (The tour guide from a different group took this photo because he saw that I wa...

A Heartfelt Message to My Best Friend, Dayana!

Image
For Dayana, with love.   My dearest Dayana, Meeting you in 2019 feels just like yesterday. I still remember the first time I saw you— in our dressmaking class, wearing that light blue striped polo dress, your short hair, your quiet, shy presence. Something in me said, “I want her to be my friend.” I befriended your friends  (our classmates) first  to get closer to you. And when we finally clicked, it felt so easy. Milk tea dates after class—though I didn’t even like milk tea at first. (It hurt my tummy, remember?) It was you who introduced it to me. We were in sync, sometimes even unknowingly twinning our outfits— like some kind of telepathy in styles. Then the pandemic hit, and life stretched the distance. Four years apart. But when we finally saw each other again, nothing had changed. We travelled, and besides Hermann, you are my best travel buddy. Sometimes we had weird trips that fit each other's souls. swam in the shallow waters of Lapu-Lapu, partied in Cebu City, ...

Majestic Siquijor✨ (A Quiet Kind of Magic)

Image
( church near the pier)                      (Lazi Church) Oh, Siquijor. You are beauty wrapped in mystery. Clear, crystal waters that sparkle under the sun like scattered diamonds. Quiet roads, clean air, and the kindest smiles from strangers who feel like old friends. (Lazi Convent) Cambugahay Falls—what an experience. Cool, fresh water cascading into turquoise pools, swinging into it like a kid again, laughing like the world had paused just for that moment. (Pier in Siquijor) There’s something about you, Siquijor— a stillness, a sacredness, a kind of magic that words can’t hold. You don’t try to be beautiful. You just are. Untouched. Unbothered. Unforgettable. (view of the Lazi Church from the Lazi Convent) Take me back. To slow mornings, salt in my hair, and sunsets that paint the sky in gold. To the feeling of not needing anything else, just being there was enough. _kenny🖤
