A Week in Camotes Island with Family - August 2022



Camotes Island has always held a special place in my heart because it's where my mother was born and raised and where my sisters grew up and went to school. It’s more than just a place—it’s a part of our family’s story.

My family last visited Camotes Island in 2018, but we were incomplete since Karen was not with us. We visited again in August 2022 to celebrate my aunt's birthday and to spend our vacation on the Island.

First Day: We celebrated my Aunt's birthday at Camao Resort, at Sitio Camao Southern Poblacion, where the above photo was taken.

Second Day: Our lunch destination was Masbas Eco Bay Resort, where we also went swimming. Next, Lake Danao Park, the last stop for the day, is Maria Aliyah Events & Resort.                                                                                       

                                                                                                        
  
                 





                         






Third-Day: View visit at Camotes Inn had our lunch at Mangodlong Beach Resort and went swimming, again LOL, and our last stop was at Boho Rock.












On our final day on Camotes Island, I always make sure to visit Santiago White Beach. I can still clearly recall my first swim there when I was nine years old when I fell in love and wished I could easily access the white sand and crystal-clear water in my hometown back in Mindanao.






                       


Santiago White Beach is the place where I could swim for hours without worrying about getting ridiculously tanned, LOL. When I'm stressed and pondering a getaway location, Santiago White Beach is always on my mind._kenny🖤

Discovering the Heart of Cambodia: A Journey of Awe and Simplicity.

This year, I traveled to four Asian countries, but Cambodia stood out to me the most. The trip was a humbling experience for many reasons. first Cambodian beer I was deeply touched by the kindness of the Cambodian people. Their lives are simple, yet they radiate happiness. Their smiles and eagerness to help guests made me feel so welcome. with the tour guide, Sambo. One of the most memorable parts of my trip was a boat ride on Tonle Sap Lake (belonging to the Mekong River system). Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. Having lunch at a floating restaurant was a unique experience and watching crocodiles being fed was both exciting and a bit scary. Visiting the temples in Cambodia felt like stepping back in time. The Famous Street Calle Crisologo in Vigan City

Spontaneously, while talking with Yana over a video call, we decided to visit Vigan City after our Baguio trip.  We booked our ticket to Baguio last April, and the flight was in June. Originally, it should have been 4 nights in Baguio, but I suddenly mentioned to her that I wanted to see Vigan City and the famous Calle Crisologo, and of course, she wanted to visit the place as well. Calle Crisologo in Vigan, Ilocos Sur, is one of the most beautiful streets in the Philippines. Trip to Baguio City

Traveling with someone who matches your interests is fun and no pressure, just full of laughter and good times. I met Yana in 2019 when I enrolled in a short course. We became close friends and shared common interests. We discussed our desire to visit Baguio City. Personally, I like cool places, and Baguio comes to mind when I think of cool temperatures. When the pandemic happened and unexpected circumstances arose, this plan was postponed. This year, we finally made it to Baguio. It was a short but memorable trip.
